If something isn’t worth your money, we’ll say so.

Mark H. — Founder & Editor
Mark started RoadGearLab after spending 3+ years researching dash cams and car electronics for his own vehicles — and struggling to find reviews he could actually trust. Too many sites just rehash spec sheets or push whatever pays the highest commission. He wanted something better.
What started as a personal obsession with finding the right dash cam turned into RoadGearLab: a site built on the idea that car tech reviews should be honest, thorough, and written for real drivers — not for search engines.
How We Review Products
We don’t do fluff reviews. Every article on RoadGearLab follows a consistent process:
- Research — We dig into specs, manufacturer claims, and technical documentation.
- Compare — Products are evaluated side-by-side against competitors in the same category and price range.
- Analyze real feedback — We study hundreds of verified buyer reviews to identify consistent strengths and recurring issues.
- Test when possible — We install and use products ourselves where we can. When hands-on testing isn’t possible, we’re transparent about our methodology.
- Recommend honestly — If a product isn’t worth your money, we tell you. Period.
